Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day, the dreaded holiday among single people everywhere. Well, I'm here to tell you that you don't actually have to hate this holiday and it's totally ok to not have a significant other on this day. A Valentine can come in all shapes and sizes. When I was little we were always told that this holiday was simply about love, all kinds of love. If it's just about love, there's a lot of people I love: my parents, brother, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, the list goes on and on. Who says you need to go on a romantic date on February 14? Personally, my best friend and I like to go out for our own "romantic date" because it's ok to have a girls day and go on dates with your best friends when both of you don't have boyfriend.
Actually, sometimes spending Valentine's Day with friends can be better than spending it with a boy. I think the biggest thing is that, with friends, there's no pressure. You don't have to worry about what to wear or what you look like because your friends don't really care. You don't need to impress anyone because I'm sure your friends have seen you in sweats with super messy hair and no makeup and they still love you. You can also do a lot of things you couldn't do with a guy. You can watch all of the sappy chick-flicks you want without being judged for crying all while doing your nails and wearing a face mask. Also, it's pretty fun doing a Valentine's gift exchange with friends. You still get all of the chocolate you want and can eat all of it during your movie pampering session.
See, spending Valentine's Day single isn't so bad after all. You can still have a fun day with people you love.
